On Saturday, May 3, 2008 - we started checking weather around 6:30 am - getting ready for an 8:00 am departure. The Weather channel website gave a cloudy but reasonable outlook - except for the forcast winds. Off to Flight Service for the real story. We got a very cheerful briefer. He was bound and determined to be perky and optimistic at 6:30 am. And what were those forecast winds for DTW - 15 knots gusting to 25. A few minutes later, the ceiling in Ann Arbor dropped to 900 feet. We decided to divert to Angelos for breakfast.
The big nasty winds didn't materialize until late afternoon, but we had a great breakfast anyway.
